Ontario International Airport has announced new service and flights making it convenient to fly in and out of Greater Ontario. Frontier Airlines is now providing flights along with charter airline service, Dynamic International Airways, bringing round-trip flights from Nanchang, China. The Greater Ontario Convention & Visitors Bureau is ready to welcome our visitors. We continue to push forward with our plans for a shuttle service that includes Ontario International Airport, hotels, transportation options and major destinations in our region.

CITY OF ONTARIO CELEBRATES INDEPENDENCE DAY
The City of Ontario will host several family friendly events on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. The annual Independence Day Parade will begin at 9 AM on southbound Euclid Avenue beginning at Fourth Street and ending at B Street. Following the parade will be the All-States Picnic and Blast at Ontario Town Square by the Ontario/Chaffey Community Show Band in downtown Ontario.
The 19,000-square-foot restaurant and bar featuring bowling lanes, social games and Southern-inspired food, beverages and craft beer has opened at Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga.
On the main concourse of Citizens Business Bank Arena a tribute to the historic California Jam concerts includes a display of photos, newspaper articles and memorabilia. The land where Citizens Business Bank Arena was built in 2008 was the former Ontario Motor Speedway where two mega concerts occurred in 1974 (Cal Jam 1) and 1978 (Cal Jam II). Over 250,000 music fans gather at each show for a stellar line up of artists including The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Foreigner, Deep Purple, Aerosmith, Santana, just to name a few.
On April 19, 2017, the City of Ontario received the Outstanding Achievement in Local Government Innovation Award for the submission “We’re M.A.D.” (Making A Difference). The City was honored at the Transforming Local Government Conference in Tulsa, Oklahoma for creating a unique workplace environment that increases both productivity and enhances employee wellness.
Richard Montanez was a janitor at the Frito-Lay plant in Rancho Cucamonga, California. At a recent graduation ceremony at Citizens Business Bank Arena he shared his story with the graduating class of Chaffey College. Montañez recalled grabbing corn from the elote man. Biting into the corn, with all the fixings, he had his revelation. “That looks like a Cheeto. What if I put chili on a Cheeto?’ ” he said.
He and his wife made chili, and he garnished his Cheetos. Next thing he knows, he’s calling the CEO and pitching his idea. The CEO tells him he’ll see him in two weeks.
There’s no June Gloom in Greater Ontario! We are enjoying plenty of sunshine and all of our outdoor destinations! After all the rain in Southern California we have rolling green hills and blooming flowers. All of our alpine lakes in the Big Bear Mountain Resorts are full of water and fish. Ontario, Calif. [April 19, 2017]– Ontario Mills today announced its Spring 2017 More Than Pink movement in support of Susan G. Komen and the fight against breast cancer. As part of its pledge to donate $1 million each year in 2017 and 2018, more than 180 participating Simon Malls, The Mills and Premium Outlets nationwide will be participating in a range of activities during the months of April and May.
Ontario Town Square, operated by the Ontario Convention Center, has announced a great line-up for The Summer Series of 2017. Every Wednesday and Friday from May 31 thru August 18 the community is invited to attend events at Ontario Town Square. The Summer Concerts on Wednesdays and the Movies on Fridays organized by the City of Ontario Recreation & Community Services provides free entertainment for the entire family.
